With about three weeks before the July 31 runoff election, both candidates vying for the Republican nomination in Senate District 25 have released new 30-second TV campaign ads.

State Sen. Jeff Wentworth, R-San Antonio, released a spot making the case that he is a "relentless problem-solver." The ad for Donna Campbell, an emergency room physician who has surprised some observers with her strong challenge against the incumbent, argues that she is "a conservative who will fight for our values and freedoms."

Wentworth's spot features testimonials from prominent local Republicans, including state Rep. Doug Miller, R-New Braunfels; former Bexar County Judge Cyndi Taylor Krier; and Carri Baker Wells, former chairwoman of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Campbell's ad was produced by David Weeks, who has a long history of working with Gov. Rick Perry. In a statement that accompanied the ad's release, Campbell said, "I believe the voters are looking for new blood, an outsider with fresh ideas who will shake things up at the State Capitol. I am that candidate."
