Libertarian U.S. Senate Candidate Myers Releases TV Ad

Libertarian John Jay Myers, a candidate for U.S. Senate, released a TV ad emphasizing his anti-war and pro-gay-marriage views.

Libertarian John Jay Myers, a candidate for U.S. Senate, released a TV commercial in time for the start of early voting.

In the ad, Myers highlights his support for ending U.S. involvement in foreign wars and more broadly keeping the government out of people's lives.

"You should be able to eat, drink or smoke whatever it is you like," Myers says in the ad. "It's certainly not governmnet's business to tell you who you can marry."

Myers said the commercial will air in the Ellis County area on CNN, the History Channel, FOX News, ESPN and the Discovery Channel. His campaign is asking for donations to air the ad in other markets around the state.

Myers is running against Republican Ted Cruz, Democrat Paul Sadler and Green Party candidate David Collins to replace U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.
