Eligibility
Individuals eligible for The Texas Tribune primary elections predictions contest ("Political Pick'Em contest") are those who complete a quiz at between Feb. 17, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. CDST and March 3, 2020 at 7 p.m. CDST.
Employees of The Texas Tribune, its board members, (collectively the “Employees”), and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible for the contest prize. The contest prize is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
By participating during the eligibility time period, participants are agreeing to these rules and to the decisions of the Texas Tribune, which are final and binding in all respects.
How to Enter
1) Visit this page beginning Feb. 17, 2020.
2) Fill in all necessary personal information fields and answer each quiz question by predicting which candidate will get the most votes by March 3 in each Texas election listed.
3) Click "Submit" when you're finished answering all quiz questions.
Prizes
The winner will receive a Texas Tribune swag bag with the following items:
- A Texas Tribune hat
- A Texas Tribune tote bag
- A Texas Tribune magnet
- A Texas Tribune notebook
Winner Selection and Notification
The Winner will be player with the best percentage rate of accuracy when predicting all categories or answering all questions, as applicable. If there are multiple players tied with the same result, a Winner will be selected by the tiebreaker question. If a tie remains, a Winner will be selected by a random drawing under the supervision of The Texas Tribune.
The Winner will be notified by email within five (5) days following Winner selection using the email address provided when the quiz submission is made. The Texas Tribune shall have no liability for Winner’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 14 days from the time award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected.
To redeem the contest prize, the Winner must send a #10 self-addressed stamped envelope for receipt by April 17, 2020 to The Texas Tribune, Attention: Political Pick'Em contest, 919 Congress Ave., Sixth floor, Austin, TX, 78701.
General Conditions
All Texas Tribune primary elections predictions contest ("Political Pick'Em contest") participants will be subscribed to email communications from The Texas Tribune. A participant may unsubscribe from these email communications at any time.
Prize winners shall be solely responsible for all federal, state, provincial and/or local taxes, and the reporting consequences thereof, and for any other fees or costs associated with the applicable prize. The Texas Tribune will not withhold federal or state taxes. Acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner’s permission to use the winner’s name, photograph and likeness for advertising and/or publicity purposes in all forms of media in perpetuity without further compensation. The Texas Tribune shall have no liability for any damage, loss or liability arising from the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize.
