Understanding and Tackling COPD in Texas: A Call to Action

An estimated 30 million Americans are affected by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but surprisingly, only 17 million have received a diagnosis. Texas alone accounts for 1.2 million of these diagnoses, placing it among the states with the highest economic burden related to the disease. Yet, despite innovative treatment options, many Texans face challenges in managing their condition due to a lack of awareness, stigma, and barriers to accessing proper care.
