Elevating education in Texas: Solution Tree’s impact
By Solution Tree
Since 1998, Solution Tree has worked to transform education worldwide by empowering educators to raise student achievement.
The data is undeniable. Schools across the Lone Star State have seen achievement that proves a high level of learning for all students is attainable.
Solution Tree, the premier instructional resource for educators, provides the support Texas educators need to create lasting impact, enact schoolwide improvement, and lead seismic shifts in student learning.
Success in Texas: Pasadena ISD
In the first year of their school improvement journey, Pasadena Independent School District sent 235 school and district leaders to Solution Tree’s PLC at Work® Institute in San Antonio with the goal of implementing professional learning communities, known as PLCs, and promoting collaboration districtwide.
“Each school was able to learn and collaborate together and then take that back to their campuses and begin the work,” said Marsha Jones, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Pasadena ISD. “That conference was a catalyst for districtwide change.”
Since implementing the PLC at Work process, Pasadena ISD has shown significant gains in student achievement, which district staff educators attribute to the power of authentic collaboration and shared collective commitments that PLCs provide. In three years, the percentage of students in grades 9–12 who achieved mastery in algebra rose 15%. Read more
“This is the way I honestly think education really should be done.”
