Haley Samsel was a 2018 D.C. reporting fellow for the Texas Tribune. At American University in Washington, she studied international relations and journalism. Before coming to the Tribune, Haley interned for NPR's education desk and USA TODAY's college platform. She also served as the news editor for her university's student newspaper, The Eagle. As a native Texan, Haley misses Tex-Mex desperately when in D.C. and enjoys rooting for her hometown Dallas Mavericks from afar.
