Harmful chemical found in Houston drinking water
The cancer-causing chemical chromium 6 has been found at high levels in Houston's tap water, according to the nonprofit Environmental Working Group. According to the group, Houston's water ranks ranks third in the country in the average level of the chemical, which they found to be 0.75 parts per billion. Some areas showed levels as high as 6 parts per billion, which is 300 times the recommended health level. (click2houston)
