NASA documents effects of Texas flood
A NASA analysis of a record 2015 flood in Southeast Texas demonstrates the impact of the flood on the land, the rivers and the Gulf of Mexico. Eight Texas rivers draining huge volumes of water into the gulf created a plume of freshwater that lingered for months. The analysis, published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, showed that ocean currents carried this large plume of freshwater eastward along the Louisiana coastline until it merged with the Mississippi River's outflow.
