Texas Congressman echoes Trump: Hillary Clinton "has done some nasty things"
WASHINGTON — Echoing a remark made by Donald Trump, his party's presidential nominee, U.S. Rep. Brian Babin, a Woodville Republican, repeatedly said on a radio program Thursday that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton "has done some nasty things."
The comment came a day after GOP nominee Donald Trump called Clinton "a nasty woman" in the waning moments of their final presidential debate Wednesday.
On Thursday, radio host Alan Colmes repeatedly asked Babin if he concurred with Trump's assessment of Clinton.
"I think sometimes a lady needs to be told when she’s being nasty," Babin said, after calling himself "a genteel Southerner."
Babin mentioned Clinton's tenure as the wife of an Arkansas politician and her "baggage," but Colmes frequently interrupted him to clarify whether Babin agreed with Trump and would call Clinton "a nasty woman."
Babin demurred, insisting repeatedly that "She's done some nasty things."
CNN flagged the audio Friday morning.
