Washington Unable to Choose Ed Funding Over Tax Breaks
Just as the Brown family of Kansas agreed to join a suit against the Board of Education in the 1950s to desegregate public schools, the McCleary family of Washington agreed to take on their state’s inability to fully fund public education. Their suit, filed in 2007, concluded in 2014 with the state Supreme Court ruling against the legislator for underfunding education programs. But the fight is far from resolved. (Boston Globe)
