New Teachers Struggle, Find Support in Mentors
Teacher turnover is a reality of U.S. education, where one in 10 teachers quit after their first year. Veteran teachers who offer mentorship and empathy can help younger peers facing disillusionment. Offering proof that infrequent teaching mistakes do not, as some might worry, permanently damage students allows newer teachers to go easier on themselves and, hopefully, trust that things will get smoother with time.
