Exercise Eases Some Depression-Related Sleep Problems

A new study finds that regular aerobic exercise may help the roughly 10 percent of patients with depression who have trouble staying awake and alert during the day, even when they didn't respond to regular anti-depressants.

Since the passage of a 2007 law allowing state employees a 30-minute exercise break three times per week, state agencies have begun offering lunchtime workout programs. Last month, the Texas Department of Public Safety took home the "fittest large agency" prize in the state's GetFitTexas challenge.
