Despite National Award, Gay Teacher Ostracized by Colleagues
An openly gay Missouri teacher who sponsors a nationally recognized Gay Straight Alliance chapter has resigned from the school and switched districts due to discrimination he's faced from some parents and colleagues. The chapter, which has 60 members, won an award for its efforts in lobbying for anti-bullying measures and its outreach to the community on LGBT issues. (Huffington Post)
