Boston Teacher Transferred After Civics Lesson on Protest
Students and parents from a Boston high school are upset over the transfer of history teacher E. Chris Summerhill, who told students in a civics lesson about his arrest protesting Eric Garner's death from an NYPD officer's chokehold. While district officials say the transfer is unrelated, Summerhill and his supporters say the timing is suspect and goes against the value of teaching real-world civics lessons. (Boston Globe)
