Federal Reminder to Districts: Don’t Forget Title IX
School districts must designate a Title IX coordinator to ensure students know their rights and that school administrators know their responsibilities under this landmark federal law. Created to prevent discrimination on the basis of sex, Title IX has always required funding recipients to designate a point person for correspondence and compliance. Most violations are due to the lack or insufficient training of this coordinator. (EdSource)
