Senate Education Committee Targets No Child Left Behind
Lamar Alexander, the Republican chairman of the U.S. Senate education committee, released a discussion draft of a bill to overhaul the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Reactions to the draft, released last week, have been especially unfavorable among Democrats, and the partisan rancor is expected to continue throughout the committee’s debates on all facets of the law.
