Arizona Now Requires Civics Test to Graduate From High School
Despite critical warnings that such measures would drive up already unmanageable state costs, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey recently signed into law a new requirement for all high school students to pass a 100-question civics test before being awarded their diplomas. Other states are expected to follow suit. Opponents still point to the fact that a 60-out-of-100 passing threshold does not accurately speak to comprehension of civics principles. (Washington Post)
