New Austin School Offers Teens Academic, Emotional Support
Austin teens recovering from issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders and mental illness have a new ally in the form of University High School. With up to 90 percent of students with substance abuse problems relapsing when they return to their former high schools after treatment, the school offers teens a three-tiered support structure that emphasizes academics, 12-step meetings and service work.
