Abbott's Latest Ad Touts Education Plan
In his latest ad, Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott ties improvements to Texas’ education system to a stronger workforce.
The ad, titled “A Better Education System,” shows a young lady named Miranda as a medical professional 22 years in the future, and how Abbott’s education plan helped her get there. The ad says Abbott’s education plan helps set a strong foundation for students in pre-K through third grade.
“For Greg Abbott, world-class jobs are the future of Texas, but the preparation starts years earlier,” the ad states, “with graduates of the best high schools in America, rigorous academic standards, access to the latest technologies — and it all starts with excellent readers.”
The ad makes no mention of his Democratic opponent, state Sen. Wendy Davis. The ad will air on broadcast and cable networks and radio stations across the state.
