Abbott's Latest Ad Questions Davis' Ethics
Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott is questioning Sen. Wendy Davis’ ethics in his latest TV ad, which focuses on how she may have profited privately from her decisions in the Texas Senate.
Citing several news stories published in April, the ad accuses Davis of using her influence to win lucrative taxpayer-funded contracts and then voting on bills that helped her own law firm. The ad is slated to run statewide.
The Davis campaign said the claims are false.
"This kind of desperate attack ad that relies on lies and debunked claims is not the move of a confident frontrunner," said Davis campaign spokesman Zac Petkanas.
