Pete Gallego and Son Featured in First CD-23 TV Ad
U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego, D-Alpine, on Monday released the first TV ad in the battleground Congressional District 23 contest, according to his campaign. Gallego previously announced he was buying at least $500,000 in air time in his re-election bid to represent the far-flung congressional district that reaches across West Texas from San Antonio. He is facing Republican Will Hurd, a former CIA agent, in the November general election.
In the ad, titled "Washington Needs to Grow Up!", Gallego compares the kids who take the ball away from his 9-year-old son, Nicolas, to Congress. He also says he told President Obama no on "special treatment for Congress when he tried to exempt them from Obamacare."
