Krause Endorses Konni Burton In SD-10
Freshman state Rep. Matt Krause, R-Fort Worth, has endorsed Tea Party favorite Konni Burton in the crowded SD-10 primary field.
"Konni is the kind of conservative leader Senate District 10 needs," Krause said in a statement released by the Burton campaign. "I've campaigned alongside her, fighting for the conservative principles people want to see in Austin. She has my endorsement for Texas Senate, and I can't wait to work with her in the Legislature."
Burton is one of five Republicans seeking the nomination in the Tarrant County swing seat being relinquished by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis. The other contenders include former state Rep. Mark Shelton, who lost to Davis in the 2012 general election, and Arlington ISD trustee Tony Pompa.
Krause was one of several Tea Party-backed campaigns in Tarrant County helped by Burton last election cycle. Another one of those freshmen elected in 2012, Bedford Republican Jonathan Stickland, is also endorsing Burton.
