U.S. Rep. Kenny Marchant, R-Coppell, has endorsed Colleyville Tea Party candidate Konni Burton, who is campaigning for the Republican nomination for the state Senate seat left open by gubernatorial hopeful Wendy Davis.
“I am pleased to support Konni Burton for Senate District 10. Her conservative values, her commitment to community service, and her limited government philosophy will serve this district well in Austin," Marchant said in a news release.
Burton is among five Republicans seeking the nomination in SD-10, a swing district in the upcoming election. She was one of the first candidates to enter the race last year. On the Democratic side, two candidates are campaigning to keep the seat under Democratic control.
Marchant's congressional district includes parts of Tarrant County, which largely makes up SD-10.
