T-Squared: The 2nd Annual Texas Tribune Festival

Yep, we're doing it again — and this time, criminal justice and transportation are on the agenda alongside education, energy, health care and immigration.

Yesterday we announced officially what should be no surprise to anyone who attended the wildly successful 2011 Texas Tribune Festival: We're doing it again this year — but bigger and better. We'll be back on the University of Texas at Austin campus September 21-23, and if you're the sort of person who nerds out on this stuff, or if, in a general sense, civic engagement is your bag, you won't want to miss it.

Last year's fest focused on four tracks of content in the Trib's journalistic wheelhouse: education, energy, health care and immigration. This year we'll have all kinds of programs on those topics and two others that are equally important to the state today and in the future: criminal justice and transportation. We anticipate somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 big-name speakers at the multi-day event, including statewide elected officials, key committee chairs and other members of the Legislature, members of Congress, state agency heads, mayors and chancellors and superintendents, and policy wonks of all types and political stripes.

We won't announce the names of our participants until later this summer, and you can't buy tickets until the middle of July, but you can sign up today to receive email notifications as news about the festival breaks. Hope to see you there!
