Dewhurst to Promote "Mini-Doc" Knocking Cruz on Hulu

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst is releasing a "mini-documentary" this week focused on Ted Cruz. The campaign plans to promote the video to visitors on Hulu.com.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst's U.S. Senate campaign is sharpening its attack on Republican primary opponent Ted Cruz, a former state solicitor general, by releasing a so-called mini-documentary this week and promoting it on Hulu.

The 2-and-a-half-minute video, called "The Jordan Fishman Story," features Fishman, a Florida businessman who says a Chinese company stole his tire designs and hurt his business. Cruz is representing the Chinese company on its appeal after it lost to Fishman in an earlier trial.

Dewhurst has accused Cruz of helping "kill American jobs" with his work on the case and has highlighted the issue in television and radio ads. The Cruz campaign has said that the company is entitled to an appeal.

Fishman told the Tribune on Tuesday that he doesn't support any candidate in the U.S. Senate race but that he believes Cruz's work on the case should be a concern to voters.

Starting Thursday, some visitors to Hulu.com will be given the option to watch the mini-documentary in exchange for viewing an entire program on Hulu without commercials, according to the campaign. A campaign official said Hulu will become a major part of its online strategy.
