Ads Infinitum: Chet Edwards' "Risk"
In his latest ad, U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards attacks Republican challenger Bill Flores on his plan to privatize Social Security. The spot, which begins running in Waco today, refers to comments Flores made earlier this year saying, "People should be allowed to invest Social Security money in their own way."
The Waco Democrat has previously hammered Flores over what he cast as his plan to privatize veterans' health care.
Here's the full transcript:
Edwards: "I'm Chet Edwards, and I approve this message."
Announcer: Honoring our parents is something Chet Edwards learned, from his family and his faith. Chet Edwards fought those who tried to privatize Social Security and Medicare, and said no to the health care bill that cut Medicare. Bill Flores ... wants to privatize Social Security, gambling it in the stock market, and privatize veterans' care, putting older veterans at risk. Bill Flores just doesn't get it.
