Ads Infinitum: Perry Calls White "Tax Hiker"
Gov. Rick Perry's campaign thinks there's something funny about Bill White's position on taxes.
The Perry camp's new web ad opens with a quote from a 2009 Houston Chronicle article that says White, his Democratic gubernatorial opponent, "could not with a straight face say as a gubernatorial candidate that he wouldn’t raise taxes in the face of the problems the state faces." From there, a montage unfolds of White not refusing to raise taxes (including a clip from a recent TribLive event with the Tribune's own Evan Smith) complete with added laugh track.
