The El Paso Times is reporting this morning that state Sen. Eliot Shapleigh, D-El Paso, and former state Rep. Paul Moreno, D-El Paso, are planning to endorse challenger Naomi Gonzalez over incumbent state Rep. Norma Chavez, D-El Paso, in the April 13 runoff that will decide the winner of the House District 76 seat. Gonzalez finished fewer than 150 votes ahead of Chavez on primary day, March 2, but didn't recieve 50 percent of the vote, forcing a runoff between the two top finishers.

Chavez has been criticized in the press and throughout the campaign for having trouble working with her fellow members of the El Paso delegation.

Brandi Grissom will have a long piece about the HD-76 runoff on Monday in the Trib.
