Even ... Matt Mackowiak

The former staffer to Perry's defeated rival, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, donated $325 this week to Perry — the man he earlier in the campaign used his @MattMackowiak account on Twitter to repeatedly call on Texans to "RETIRE". It happened so often that a parody account, @notmackowiak, started poking fun. We wrote about it, too.

Mackowiak, now living in Waco and managing Republican Bill Flores' congressional campaign in District 17, said he's just doing what all Texas Republicans should do: supporting the nominee.

"I believe every conservative who previously supported Sen. Hutchison needs to rally behind Gov. Perry and help make sure he's elected," he said. "The primary is over."

Texans need truth. Help us report it.
