2010: Perry, Hutchison Lead White in New Poll
The latest Rasmussen Poll has Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White still trailing Republicans Gov. Rick Perry and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in hypothetical general-election contests this fall.
Respondents to the poll said they prefer Perry over White, 47% to 41%. Hutchison polls slightly better: 47% to 38%. Five percent of likely voters prefer some other candidate, according to Rasmussen, and 7% said they are undecided.
The results are similar to Rasmussen's poll earlier this month, though White has improved his standing slightly.
The poll also has evidence that the other Republican in next week's primary, Debra Medina, may be losing ground following her statements on the Glenn Beck show.
In the previous survey, she had a three-point advantage over White. Now Medina trails the Democrat by 10 points, 47% to 37%.
More complete results are expected tomorrow.
