Ads Infinitum: Topic of Debate
Say what you will about Republican gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina — she delivers (on commercials, at least).
She said we would be getting a commercial calling for her inclusion in the anticipated debates between her higher profile primary opponents — Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison — and, lo and behold, that is exactly what we've got.
The ad, titled "Face the Debate," will air first in Dallas, the location of the first debate, which is scheduled for Jan. 14 and will be hosted by public broadcasting station KERA. The details of a second debate, put on by Belo Corp., have yet to be finalized.
Here's the script:
Fellow Texans, my name is Debra Medina and I’m running for governor, but guess what? Rick Perry and Kay Bailey Hutchison don’t want a debate with We Texans...they don't want a debate with me.
Because they think WE, the average Texan, shouldn't have a say in the future of our Party, in the future of our state. If you want an open debate, join me and help me send a message to Rick and Kay to face the State...face We Texans...face the debate!
I'm Debra Medina, Republican for governor for Texas.
