Stump speeches are notoriously newsless and not always completely factual. Stump Interrupted is a Texas Tribune feature inspired by VH1's "Pop Up Video", aimed at popping some life into the traditional stump while giving the speech more context, too.
Governor Rick Perry's October speech at the Lake Travis Republican Women's Club is the second in our Stump Interrupted series. Perry spoke for nearly 22 minutes, which is twice the maximum time for single YouTube uploads. So we've broken this up into two parts.
Note that some parts of this speech will be sped up for time purposes - after all, we already busted the YouTube time limit once. (You'll see and hear the fast forwarding, so no, that is not your computer glitching out.)
To see the context behind the bubbles, we've included a quick spreadsheet with links to background and sources.
