Lyne Won't Seek Re-election to House
Another House freshman won't be back: Lanham Lyne, R-Wichita Falls, says he won't seek re-election to the Texas House in 2012.
The former Wichita Falls mayor says he's spent enough time in elected office and wants to stay closer to home and family. He expressed some frustration at the way things work in Austin during and immediately after the legislative session, and his decision isn't a big surprise.
He won the seat last year after long-time incumbent David Farabee, a Democrat, decided not to seek another term.
