2014 TribuneFest: Audio From the Health Care Track

The health care track at the 2014 Texas Tribune Festival featured panel discussions on mental health, the Affordable Care Act, medical education and women's health. Here's audio from each session:

Texas Tribune reporter Alana Rocha moderated the "What's Next for Mental Health?" panel, which kicked things off. Featured were Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia, state Sen. Joan Huffman, Texas Department of State Health Services Commissioner David Lakey, Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute President Tom Luce and Tony Solomon, the director of the Veterans Behavioral Health Initiative for Mental Health America of Greater Houston.

The track's second session, "Texas vs Obamacare," was moderated by Charles Ornstein, a senior reporter at ProPublica. The panelists included U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess, state Reps. Garnet Coleman and Sarah Davis, Texas Health and Human Services Commissioner Kyle Janek and state Sen. Charles Schwertner. 

The next session, "The State of Medical Education," was moderated by Tribune reporter Alana Rocha. The panel included Texas A&M University Health Science Center CEO Brett Giroir, Dell Medical School Dean Clay Johnston, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center President Tedd Mitchell, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center President Daniel Podolsky and state Sen. Kirk Watson.

The track's final session, "The Women's Health Debate," was moderated by Tribune Editor Emily Ramshaw. Panelists include state Rep. Carol Alvarado, state Sen. Bob Deuell, state Reps. Dawnna Dukes and Susan King and Texas House District 55 GOP Nominee Molly White.
