Event: 2014 Texas Water Summit
What: 2014 Texas Water Summit, titled “Securing Our Economic Future.” An opportunity for scientists, engineers, policy analysts, legislators, CEOs, agency officials and interested citizens to learn about the latest advances in water security in the agriculture, oil and gas, power and manufacturing industries. Sessions will focus on future water availability, agricultural water use, water for ecological needs and industrial opportunities for conservation.
Who: Hosted by the Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science in Texas. Featured speakers: Elizabeth Fazio, the director of the Committee on Natural Resources in the Texas House; Laura Huffman, the Texas director of the Nature Conservancy; Carlos Rubinstein, chairman of the Texas Water Development Board.
